BoN Governor warns against cryptocurrency

The Governor of the Bank of Namibia (BoN), Johannes !Gawaxab, says the Central Bank does not recognise cryptocurrencies in Namibia, neither does it recommend the trading in cryptocurrencies or support the possession of such.  !Gawaxab said this during his recent visit to the Erongo Region where he among others addressed the Region’s business fraternity.

Truck tips over on B2 east of Arandis

Motorists traveling on the B2 road in the vicinity of Vergenoeg east of Arandis encountered this truck lying on its side very close to the road’s edge early on Thursday morning. The truck, which was carrying a container, tipped over under unknown circumstances.

Fire at Henties Bay

A fire destroyed three shacks and a car that was parked close to the shacks in Omdel, Henties Bay on Tuesday (20 April 2021). Despite heavy winds, Henties Bay Fire and Rescue did an excellent job and managed to save a nearby house on the same property from the blaze. No injuries were reported.
